The Sun Drive is a SILICON diode fuzz pedal, inspired by the most classic “Muff” tone. Its circuit architecture is based on four gain stages, two of which include dual clipping circuits, delivering a powerful, harmonically rich sound that makes an impact from the very first note.

Tone control is handled by a classic subtractive EQ circuit: the more the knob is opened, the more frequencies are allowed to pass through, revealing the true voice of the Sun Drive. With the Tone set to maximum, the circuit fully opens up—but the gain must also be adjusted, as the harmonic content increases proportionally with sustain. This interactive system encourages exploration, helping players find the ideal balance between saturation and dynamics.

As per Costalab tradition, a Class A buffer is always active. It protects the signal, enhances note definition and attack, and shields against possible radio frequency interference. An integrated ground loop circuit ensures silent operation, even in electrically challenging environments.
