As the very first chapter of our story, the Booster—now the Booster Fat—features unique characteristics: It offers a boost of up to +26 dB with a smooth and controlled high-frequency response and a full, present low end, designed to avoid unpleasant harmonics when pushing an amp.
Boosts are typically used in two ways: most commonly at the start of the signal chain to drive overdrive or distortion pedals; or at the end, to raise the overall volume and gain presence during solos.
Thanks to its clean boost range from 0 to +26 dB, the CostaLab Booster Fat can also be used in the effects loop as an attenuator for loud tube amps.
Like all Costalab pedals, the Booster Fat is built with premium components ensuring noise-free operation, and it features true bypass switching and an anti-pop filter for transparent, smooth performance.

The pedal is powered by an external 9V DC supply with center-negative polarity and a standard 2.1 mm connector.

We recommend using the filtered and stabilized GIOVE power supply or an equivalent high-quality adapter. Using other power supplies may cause unwanted noise and risk damage.
When powered externally, the internal battery is automatically disconnected.
